This week the Ravens faced the Wildcats from Lake Norman High School, and boy was it a nail biter of a game! Despite being in Mooresville rather than their home court, the Ravens fought long and hard for the upper-hand. There were a few instances where it seemed as though they were actually going to defeat the Wildcats, but an injury to one of the Ravens in the third quarter of the game proved otherwise. It was a close game, but still a loss for our Ravens.

Friday night’s game was against the J. F. Webb High School from Oxford, and it was a close one! The Warriors played a strong game against our Ravens and took a lead over them through the first half of the game. By the time half-time hit, the spectators certainly thought the Ravens were going to end another game with a second loss. They were wrong. Coming out of their locker room, the Ravens seemed revitalized and pulled it together at the very end, winning another game.

On this surprisingly warm Valentine’s Day night, it seemed as if love was truly in the air — love for basketball, that is. Our Ravens hit the floor in high spirits and played an amazing game against the North Henderson Knights. It seemed as if no matter what the Knights did, the Ravens were three steps ahead. The Ravens may have won merely because the Knights were playing so poorly, but we’d like to think that the Ravens just bounced back from their loss last week.

Sorry Ravens, you should know by now that if you’re going to have a fight, you really should do it behind closed doors. You have no idea who might be watching … listening… taping. Unfortunately for our Head Cheerleader, something like that just so happened the other night in her not-so-humble abode.

The young man knocking her off that pedestal remains a mystery … but some of us have an idea as to who the gentleman in question is.

Harper: Settle down.

Guy: You know, I’ve been told you were pushy but I’d never seen it, so I just ignored it.  But now I have seen it.  And if this is you, I’m not interested.

Harper: I bet you’ve been told a lot of things.

Guy: ”I have.  And I didn’t believe them.  At least, I tried to see it a different way.  I really wanted to believe there was more to you.

Harper: You seem to already have written me off then.

Guy: Like I said, if this is you, I’m not interested.  You don’t know everything.  You don’t know me.  You never tried to get to know me, not really, you just wanted to sleep with me, is how it comes off.  So don’t tell me how I feel, because you have no fucking idea.  Forget basketball season, forget SATs, forget Donovan and— and Michelle, and all of it.  If this is you, I’m not interested.  Not even a little bit.  Thanks for the water.

*Guy starts to leave*

Harper: No. You don’t get to say all of that and then try to leave. Because how dare you.  No, I don’t know you but do you know what I know about you? I know that you’re a nice person, but you don’t take anyone’s shit, obviously.

To whoever the mystery man is, hat’s off to you. You’ve truly won this round. Poor Harper. She finally found a man who won’t cater to her every whim. Though, rumor has it, Donovan Carter dumped her after she exhibited irrational behavior. Has the queen of the school finally lost it? Or is this who she’s always been? Time will only tell, but we can’t wait to see the aftermath of this bombshell.

This tape has circulated through the school via a number of different sources, as using all kinds of social media is the way to go for teenagers. It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for it to be up on YouTube, Facebook and the like. The person who taped it as well as the original uploader is anonymous. If you have any questions, feel free to message us.

Perhaps the Ravens went into the game with their heads in the clouds, or maybe they even walked in thinking the game would be an easy win. Regardless of the reason, the outcome was unfortunate, to say the least. The Ravens have broke their winning streak as the Warrenton Hawks have defeated them. They played a good game, even if a few of the boys seemed as if they had something else on their minds. Tonight the Hawks soared higher than our dear Ravens. Hopefully they have better luck next week.
